Astronaut

Edgar Amor, a Mexican animator, invited me to collaborate on a small visual development and editorial project. Edgar wrote a beautiful story for an animated short: an astronaut who travels to Mars and discovers that the planet is eerily similar to Earth… yet he is still an “alien,” stuck in a bad job and with an urgent need to go back home.

The goal was to create a few illustrated pages with backgrounds for a small project bible, intended to be used for pitching, finding support, and securing funding. It was a fast, highly focused job: I had only five days to produce three images and a few additional concepts.

I really loved the final result. I’m sharing some of those pieces here.
