Libertad
“Paths of Freedom,” a Mexican organization focused on promoting the defense of freedom, launched an open call with the theme “Freedom in Mexico.”
I asked myself: what does freedom in Mexico really mean?
To me, freedom in Mexico is almost an extreme sport. There’s this idea of a “ladder of opportunity,” but that ladder is usually reserved for just a few It depends on the color of your skin, your family, your background. And even if you try to climb it, you’ll face much bigger obstacles: drug trafficking, insecurity, inequality, injustice.
I don’t think we are a truly free country. We do have freedoms, yes, but many of them are held together with pins.
My proposal wasn’t selected, but I was happy with the final result.
